Physician Documentation Improvement

For over 15 years, MARSI has focused on physician documentation improvement.

Although MARSI is viewed as an expert medical coding, auditing and compliance company, our main goal for over 15 years has been physician documentation improvement.  Why?  Because the functioning of hospital’s outpatient services and physician offices are centered on physician documentation.

Physician_Physician_MARSI.jpgWe began with medical staff education developing an on-going process of “reminders”, actually queries to clarify physician documentation.  Over the years, we realized the need for full scale effort towards physician documentation improvement. 

Ten years ago we rolled out a program that included physician to physician education, concurrent case review, a recurring query process and DRG/APC validation. 

At the time, we knew of no other company providing equal services.  Today, PDI is a buzz term, but it is not always effective – unless a full scale effort is undertaken.
