Jerry Jorgensen, RHIA, CCS

Jerry has been with MARSI for 10 years and is the Operations Manager/Privacy Officer.  He holds a B.S. Degree in Health Information Management from the University of Central Florida with a Minor in Computer Science.

Through his career at various hospital systems, he has held many positions including:  coder, coding coordinator, HIM department supervisor, DRG coordinator and senior compliance auditor.  He has worked closely with patient financial services and managed care departments to ensure placement of appropriate contracts, as well as, establishing effective interdepartmental communications.  He has processed and written appeals for all coding-based denials by various payers for a 6-hospital system.

As the Operations Manager, Jerry oversees all operations of the company, maintains client relations, provides on-site presentations to client facilities, establishes corporate policies and procedures and researches and develops new service lines.  Jerry successfully developed and implemented MARSI's Physician Documentation Improvement Program, for which he remains hands-on with the process of educating physicians, case managers, HIM staff and hospital administrative staff.  Last year, this program identified increased revenue of more than $830,000, representing a Return On Investment of over 600%.
